  • A tiny morning quake and a bright hint of spring set the stage for a quiet revolution: choosing intention over dread to transform Monday into a fresh start. We talk through how a simple greeting—“Happy Monday”—can change the tone of your day, then stack practical habits that keep that energy alive. From embracing single tasking to drafting kinder weekly goals, we share a realistic, human way to move through work and life without the fog of frantic multitasking.

  • We also dig into our March mile challenge at school: run a mile a day, not for speed but for consistency, connection, and small wins that compound. That routine ties neatly to daylight saving time, where longer evenings can fuel better moods and movement—as long as we respect sleep. You’ll hear easy, science-backed nudges: morning light to set your clock, a steady wake time, and gentler evenings that calm the mind. It’s about building momentum that lasts past Monday.

  • Community love runs through the episode with birthday shoutouts, listener thanks, and a few favorite resources, including a powerful audiobook on practicing love in everyday relationships. Real life steps up to the mic too—our pup, Chanel, voices her need for closeness—reminding us that mindfulness belongs in the middle of noise, not away from it. And yes, we finally face earthquake readiness with a simple go-bag starter list for people and pets, because feeling prepared quiets worry and clears the path for focus.

If this resonated, tap Like ,follow, share it with a friend who dreads Mondays, and leave a quick review to help more listeners find a calmer way to start the week. What intention will you set for next Monday?

Spring Vibes And A Morning Quake

SPEAKER_00

Oh chickawa. What's up, party people? Welcome to another episode of LKVade Your Life. I am your hostess with the most S. L is in the letter L and key as in the key to your heart. Well, I have to tell you I was all prepared to do a video version of me today for today's Mindful Monday, March 2nd. Welcome to spring, people. It's finally arrived. And how did it arrive? With this morning's earthquake for me. How about you folks? Yeah, just when we got to thinking that they were over or had settled or whatever, up pops another one. Anyway, thankfully it wasn't too jarring. So, welcome to Mindful Monday. Let's get into it. I wanted to talk about a couple of different things today. One being it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Yes, I have become what was that show, uh, Mr. Rogers? Yeah. Sometimes I catch myself thinking about that whenever I say it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, but it really is, and it has been all weekend. So spring is upon us. So to all you allergy sufferers out there, I hope that you are taking your Zyrtec or Claritin or I forget what the other popular one is. Nurse Bonnie would know. Anyway, Zyrtech is the number one, Claritin is the number two, and I can't for the life of me think of the other one. Allegra? I don't know. Anyway, thankfully, I am not an allergy sufferer, at least not too badly yet. Knock on wood. So I got to thinking about today, and it's funny because I actually didn't mean to talk about this. And sometimes I don't know what I'm going to talk about until the day of, the hour of, the minute of. But then I started thinking, I woke up with a new approach today. And I started it out very differently. And that is for setting intentions and starting the week to have a Monday mindset, intention over dread, shifting the perspective of Mondays from something to survive into a fresh start. So you know how we usually say, oh, hey, happy Friday. Well, I found myself saying today, happy Monday. And a lot of people at work slash school were like, yeah. Hey, haven't had my second cup of coffee, or I'm tired, I'm hungry because I'm fasting for Ramadan. Or people are just tired and hungry because it's Monday. But I tried to have a new outlook and a new approach. And I have to say it worked out pretty well. We started our March Madness where we run a mile every day. It's something we do at the school for the month of March. We run the mile every day. And then at the end of the month, we've earned usually a food party of some sort and or a t-shirt. So it's kind of a fun goal. But the other thing I wanted to talk about is when you start the Monday off right, then you start thinking about, you know, we're challenging the norm of multitasking to reduce anxiety, increase focus, the art of single tasking. And then to take it a step further for Mindful Monday, what about setting weekly goals?

Gentle Weekly Goal Setting

SPEAKER_01

Weekly goals setting with compassion. Planning your week without the pressure or self-judgment.

Daylight Saving Time Adjustments

SPEAKER_00

So it just got me thinking about that today since I tried a new approach. It wasn't so awful. My Monday was yeah, it was pretty good. I mean, I can't think of anything that stands out where I want to say, oh my god, it was horrible. This kid did this, and this person did this, and my coworkers said that. Your dreams and wishes will come to fruition.

SPEAKER_01

On that note, how many are excited about soon to be what is it, spring forward?

SPEAKER_00

Daylight savings time. I know those of you that are in like Arizona and different states don't necessarily experience that. But I think I can speak at least for myself and my husband, that when we are in, what is it, spring forward, fall back, that when it gets dark early, we feel like we have to go to bed. It's like all of a sudden we're tired and it's only six o'clock at night, right? So when daylight savings time kicks in, it feels like, hey, we got that extra sunlight, we got the extra time, it's gonna be lighter, longer. So it's not so horrible driving home from work and or you know, you don't feel like you have to go to bed at an unheard of bedtime hour. So I'm wondering how do you adjust or adapt to that daylight savings time? Is it something that you look forward to? Or does it not phase you?

SPEAKER_01

Would really love to hear your thoughts.

SPEAKER_00

I know in my last episode I talked about birthdays, and I need to give some shout-outs to some people. So I've been talking about precious Pisces and my girl Rhonda. It is her birthday tomorrow. Yay! So happy birthday, Rhonda. Normally I would be saying happy blank birthday, but I didn't get your permission to say the magical number. But let me just say she looks great for her age. I feel like all my girlfriends are rocking their age pretty well.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what their secret is, but whatever it is, I need to be in the know about it. Gotta love those podcast interruptions.

SPEAKER_00

In this case, it was charming Chanel who needed to get some water and make all kinds of noise.

SPEAKER_01

Say hello to the audience, Chanel, as you're sniffing and huffing and puffin'. And these are why I need additional subscribers. Travis, Dory, Rhonda, is for these added.

The Lap Dog Chronicles

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm having a brain fart with the words. Added production costs to quiet the editing because this girl wants to get on my lap and be on her mommy couch when I'm trying to record my podcast. But she has no concept. She just knows I just want to be with mom, okay? I just want to be close to you. Is that such a crime? The answer is no, Janelle, it's not. To all you dog lovers, if you have a lap dog, even better, if you have a lap dog, a shih tzu, pick anese, pug, mix, or just a dog that loves to be on you and a part of you 24-7. You know the struggle. The struggle is real. Well, my girl has Cushing's disease as well as some sort of neurological thing going on. So she's very attached. So whenever I'm home, she has to be on me, with me, next to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the whole night.

Listener Gratitude And Recommendations

SPEAKER_00

And while for the most part, I don't mind it that she wants to be the big spoon or the little spoon, there are times, such as podcast recording times, when it can be a bit of a nuisance, an inconvenience. Anyway, want to make sure that I give a shout out to all my loyal listeners and subscribers. Shout out to Kyle Few, Commitment to Love, Love is a Verb. If you haven't gotten it, get it. It's on Audible, it's inexpensive, and it's worth the listen slash read. I can't say enough good things about it. Just talking to you about learning how to love your family member, your partner, your sibling, your whatever relationship you have with that person. There's all kinds of great, insightful information on how to love and all the important layers that go along with it. So, yeah, definitely a helpful tool that everyone could use, having it in their toolbox. Moving right along, Lisa Roberts Corbello. Thank you for being a loyal listener and subscriber. I see you on social media, but I haven't bumped it into you out lately, but I hope that that's about to change. Maybe by the time St. Patty's Day rolls around. That's when I usually bump into all the friends that I haven't seen in the in-between times. You can always count on bumping into your friends at a popular holiday that involves drinking, socializing, dancing, all that good stuff. Moving right along, Mike Kaufman, thank you for being a loyal subscriber.

SPEAKER_01

Appreciate you. And Jeff Para, Namaste.

Earthquake Preparedness Nudge

SPEAKER_00

Thank you for sharing those lovely beach videos that I saw recently. That was a nice treat to see you and your friend at the beach taking in the waves and the sand and just zen time. Love it, miss it. Angie Germer, Thrive Lavelle. I talk about Angie often. If you are looking to fill those nutritional gaps, Angie Germer is your girl with Thrive Lavelle. She can help provide you with all natural supplements to help you lose weight, gain muscle, help you sleep, whatever your needy, your need is.

SPEAKER_01

Angie's got you. Then moving right along to Creative Cara.

SPEAKER_00

Creative Cara, who has an amazing Etsy page via Linked Tree and Etsy. Love my artist.com or LinkTree, Love My Artist. She has a lot of tutorials out there. She's got um clothing and shoes and just various different things, paintings, video montages, wedding favors. I mean, you name it, this girl can create it.

SPEAKER_01

That's why I call her Creative Cara. The name fits her.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, um Roger, Roger Havens, thank you for being a loyal listener and subscriber. I see that the gardening is coming along nicely and admiring all the things that you are sharing on social media. So thank you for that. And thank you to all my loyal listeners and commentators. I really appreciate you. Andrew, Andrew is a loyal listener and frequently comments. Andrew, now I just have to get you to subscribe. It's literally as little as a cup of coffee.

SPEAKER_01

Or as much as a happy meal, depending on who you are, what you do. I know Andrew helps his family, so that would probably be his response if I were to guess.

Closing And Support Requests

SPEAKER_00

So shout out to my boy Art, Art Galvin, karaoke guy, and Rhonda again. Hope you have a fabulous, marvelous, precious, pristine. All the P words, perfect, plentiful uh birthday. And trying to make sure I cover everyone that's gonna have a birthday this week. Shout out to Miss N. Miss N's birthday was yesterday. And I'm sure I'll be wishing the Pisces all throughout the month, um, obviously, until that era ends. So thank you for tuning in. Thank you for listening. I would love to hear your thoughts on what I shared today. Did it resonate with you? Um, did you feel the earthquake? No one answered me about having an earthquake plan in place. Like, yep, our dog leash, our important documents, our, you know, chargeless battery flashlight, yada yada. We have it ready to go. Because I'll be honest, we don't, and we need to get on that. It's something I think about every time we have a jolt. I'm like, we really need to have that in place.

SPEAKER_01

Because what if there's a big one and we're not ready? Scary. Also, thank you to Barry for being a loyal listener. I really appreciate you, Barry.

SPEAKER_00
